Payment Method
At Douglasscott.com payment can be made with a company check or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Returned checks will incur a $50 charge for handling. You may apply for a credit line. A credit application must be filled out and you must supply us with current references. Pending the results, credit will be issued accordingly.

Sales Tax
Sales tax in Los Angeles County is 8.25%. This will apply to all sales destined for the State of California. No sales tax will be applied for orders outside of California. A resale number must be provided for California tax exemption.

Furniture Assembly
Most of the products do not require assembly. Minor assembly will be required for some accessory items. All under-counter and inner-vault equipment must be secured. American Furniture Systems (douglasscott.com) is not responsible for installation or for any harm or damage that may occur during the installation process. It is our customer’s responsibility to hire a reputable contractor or installation company for proper installation.

Warranty

American Furniture Systems, Inc., (“Company”) which is located at 808 West Santa Anita Street, San Gabriel, California, 91776, (626) 457-9900, warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship provided such products are installed and maintained according to the Company’s published instructions.

Warranty Period for Standard Commercial Office Furniture Products
The Company warrants its standard commercial office furniture products for a period of ten (10) years from the date of initial delivery.

Purchaser’s Own Materials
No warranty is made with respect to the purchaser’s own fabrics or other materials supplied by the purchaser.

Provisions Applicable to All Products
Limitation of Remedies. In the event of a breach of an express or implied warranty, the Buyer’s exclusive remedy shall be, at the Seller’s sole option, repair or replacement of the product or non-conforming part of the product. The Seller limits its obligations to repair or replacement and the Buyer shall have no other remedy against the Seller. If the Seller fails to repair or replace the product within a reasonable time and the remedy fails of its essential purpose, the Buyer may return the sold goods in exchange for a full refund of the purchase price. The refund of the purchase price shall be the Buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy in the event that the remedy of repair or replacement fails of its essential purpose.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SELLER BE LIABLE TO THE BUYER FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, ECONOMIC OR SPECIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY.

The Company will--free of charge--repair or replace with comparable product (at the Company’s option) any product, part, or component which fails under normal use as a result of such defect in material or workmanship. This warranty extends only to the original purchasers who acquire new product from the Company or other authorized resellers.

The warranty does not apply to consumable items, such as light bulbs, light ballasts, and other certain electronic products, which are deemed to be perishable as a result of normal wear and tear.

DISCLAIMER OF ALL WARRANTIES
IN COMMON UNDERSTANDING, THE SELLER CALLS THE BUYER’S ATTENTION TO THE EXCLUSION OF WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND THE SELLER MAKES IT PLAIN THAT THERE IS NO IMPLIED WARRANTY WHICH EXTENDS BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF.
